Changed markets and an unsettled zeitgeist in the 1970s and 1980s call for a redesigned Siemens logo. A variation in weight of type, an emphasis on round shapes and unusual coloring heighten the logo's emotional appeal.

The history of the Siemens logo 1878 - 2001

Siemens uses its proprietary typefaces Siemens Sans, Siemens Serif and Siemens Slab, all designed by Hans-Jürg Hunziker. The previous logo adopted the Siemens Sans, but this version uses a new customized typeface.

The colour is petrol (Pantone 321). Additional colours are cool green (Pantone 5493), cool gray (Pantone 5425), yellow (Pantone 122), orange (Pantone 158), red (Pantone 186), green (Pantone 356), blue (Pantone 661) and black.
