On Nov. 1 2002, Vietnam Airlines officially launched the "Golden Lotus" logo after 12 years of impressing passengers with its "Stork and Moon" logo.
A Boeing 777, painted with the new logo on its body, landed at the Noi Bai international airport on Oct. 20 to start the program.
"To Vietnamese people, lotus stands for perfection on the Buddhist doctrine. The new logo, therefore, expresses the nation's advancement will as well as the strength and the development process of the civil aviation service," explained Director General Nguyen Xuan Hien.
