Founded in 1935 by Armand Petitjean in France, Lancôme will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2010. Petitjean’s motive was ambitious yet simple: to create a beauty brand that would deliver French elegance around the world. The name “Lancôme” was inspired by the ruins of a castle, Le Château de Lancosme, while the wild roses in the area inspired the company’s symbol of the single golden rose.
Mr. Petitjean inspiration: full of roses around the castle, full of romantic mood, and I think that every woman Armand like roses, like the beautiful swaying, but each has its own characteristics and attitude, so to Castle perfume named his cause (and with a typical French-style macron ^ name instead of the castle in the "S" letters), Rose has become LANCOME Lancome brand logo. By the root of the matter, as early as 1964, the standardization of the smaller leaves and long-stem roses appeared in Lancome ads and logo on all packaging.
