First WWF panda logo was designed by its founder chairman, the naturalist and painter Sir Peter Scott, in 1961.  It was little simplified in 1978 and still looks very similar to the original panda logo.  In 1986 the WWF logo was redesigned again. We can see very nice and simple logo.It was simplified one more time and also "WWF" name was added.

An adorable panda is the unmistakable embodiment of the World Wildlife Fund, the largest privately financed conservation group in the world. In 1986 Landor reworked the old logo, creating a strong, recognizable symbol that would overcome all language barriers. The fund still uses this furry black-and-white ambassador to carry its preservation message throughout the world.
