A&E (TV channel)
A&E; is a United States-based cable and satellite television channel with headquarters in New York City and offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, London, Los Angeles and Stamford. A&E; also airs in Canada, Australia and Latin America. Initially named the Arts & Entertainment Network, A&E; launched February 1, 1984, to 9.3 million homes in the U.S. and Canada. In May 1995, the channel's name officially changed to the A&E; Network, to reflect its declining focus on arts and entertainment.
