The YWCA asked Landor to help create a new identity that would more effectively communicate the organization's mission. The previous logo was outdated and did not reflect the current YWCA's spirit and purpose. The hope was that by updating the identity, the YWCA could attract more women to its membership and capture the attention of donors and other potential stakeholders. The challenge was to design a logo and visual style that could represent the current vitality of the organization, state the YWCA's mission, and serve as a call to action.

Landor proposed an identity that directly supports the YWCA's hallmark mission: Eliminating racism, empowering women. The new signature features YWCA in bold lowercase letters and places the mission above YWCA in the same typestyle, tying the name of the organization directly to its mission. The distinctive color chosen for the signature is engaging, warm, and welcoming. A redesigned visual system combines powerful messaging and black-and-white photography. The refreshed identity and look and feel reflect the YWCA's passion and strength and differentiate it from other organizations.

World YWCA | World Young Women's Christian Association

The World YWCA is the umbrella organization of the global network of the YWCA, a movement of women working for social and economic change around the world. It advocates for young women’s leadership, peace, justice, human rights and sustainable development, both on a grassroots and global scale. It is the largest women’s organization in the world, and the second oldest organization of its kind, second only to the Relief Society. The full name of the organization is the World Young Women's Christian Association and is currently based in Geneva, Switzerland.
