Starbucks, celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2011, unveiled a new logo Wednesday that brings the iconic green siren out of the circle and drops the words "Starbucks Coffee."
This is the fourth logo Starbucks has had since it opened its first coffee shop in Seattle in 1971, and the first time the logo has not included the brand’s name.
