The horse debuted in the very first logo of the Imperial. Later  in 1911, wings were added to the horse as the company was renamed to Standard Oil Co.. In 1931, the official Pegasus "Peggy" trademark, which was a winged red horse flying  to the left was created. In 1966 the Mobil name was separated from Pegasus and got a red "O", and the Pegasus was horizontally flipped and facing right, the Pegasus was also simplified and placed in a circle.

Today, Many of Mobil products feature the Mobil symbol of Pegasus which has been a company trademark since its affiliation with Magnolia Petroleum Company in the 1930s.
