At 5AM ET on the morning of June 14, 2004, Cartoon Network debuted its second logo described simply as two black-and-white cubes with a capital "C" and a capital "N" reminiscent of the familiar checkerboard logo that has been in place since the network launched in October 1992 The Cartoon Network network logo was black & white, adopting various forms/ different colors/ different styles.
This logo officially retired on May 28, 2010.

The channel was launched on October 1, 1992, after Turner purchased the animation studio Hanna-Barbera Productions in 1991. It was originally a 24-hour outlet for classic animation properties from the Turner Broadcasting libraries and was all-ages-oriented, but now the channel also targets teens and adults with mature content handled by its Adult Swim division.
