The new logo, designed by Landor Associates, sticks with the familiar letters “P&G” in a serif font. But it encloses them in a blue circle with a crescent moon in lighter blue on the left side.

Starting in the 1850s, the downtown Cincinnati-based consumer-goods giant’s logo consisted of the man in the moon and 13 stars. But in the 1980s and ‘90s, P&G was plagued by persistent rumors that its old logo had occult connotations, so the company eventually moved to a simpler mark.

Landor explains “The moon and stars serve as a reflection of P&G’s unique ability to touch the lives of consumers throughout the phases of their day, their life, and across generations.”
